NACTO Urban Bikeway Design Guide

NACTO released the third edition of its Urban Bikeway Design Guide in January 2025. NACTO is ‘an association of 100 major North American cities and transit agencies formed to exchange transportation ideas, insights, and practices and cooperatively approach national transportation issues.’

According to NACTO, the purpose of the NACTO Urban Bikeway Design Guide (part of the Cities for Cycling initiative) is to provide cities with state-of-the-practice solutions that can help create complete streets that are safe and enjoyable for bicyclists.
