BIKETOWN

The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation is a community partner in shaping a livable city. They plan, build, manage and maintain an effective and safe transportation system that provides people and businesses access and mobility.

Emergency Relief Work: In response to COVID-19, the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is providing BIKETOWN at nearly
zero cost. Recognizing that many essential and front-line workers beyond health care need to move through the City, BIKETOWN is offering heavily subsidized rides through April 30 to all users, providing transportation that allows for physical distancing through this health emergency. Pay-As-You-Go plans are $0.01/minute with a $0.10 one-time-sign-up fee.

Additionally, BIKETOWN has increased its cleaning protocol. When field mechanics are rebalancing or otherwise servicing bikes at stations, all bikes are cleaned. Rebalancers are cleaning all bikes they move in the field, whether or not they go to depot, and high contact surfaces on vans used to transport vehicles are disinfected at the start of each shift. BIKETOWN staff are wearing gloves when handling bikes both in the depot and at high traffic stations. BIKETOWN will continue to monitor, adjust, and increase in measures that keep BIKETOWN staff as well as the public safe during this health emergency.
