SUMMARY:2023 National Shared Mobility Summit
DESCRIPTION:To create a platform for collective action and accountability\, SUMC convened the Shared Mobility 2030 Action Agenda which calls on the industry to establish a roadmap to making shared mobility more viable than driving a car. This call comes at an opportune time with the historic passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act. Both offer opportunities to replace car-centric transportation with people-focused shared mobility that fights climate change\, promotes equity\, and strengthens community. \nAs we enter 2023\, this call to action has been all the more pressing. Climate change plagues communities\, traffic deaths remain horrifically high\, and public spaces prioritize personal vehicles. We must build upon and hold ourselves accountable to advance shared mobility. Thus\, this year’s conference theme is “All Together Now: Action + Accountability for People-Focused Mobility.” \nJoin SUMC this year for an opportunity for old and new friends in the shared mobility world to gather and evaluate where we stand on achieving our collective goals. With speeches\, workshops\, panels\, networking\, and field trips\, attendees can learn about best practices in shared mobility that they can implement in their communities.

SUMMARY:All Together Now: Collective Action for Shared Mobility
DESCRIPTION:Shared mobility is fundamental for a sustainable\, equitable future\, but we need to work together to make it work. We need to take collective action.  \nTogether—public agencies\, private companies\, non-profits\, community groups\, and advocates—we can find the values\, interests\, and goals we have in common. We can share resources and insights that benefit the public good. Ultimately\, we can extend decision-making power and give everyone a seat at the table. \nThe 2022 National Shared Mobility Summit is where we can all come together.  \nSUMC is working to replace car-centric transportation with people-focused shared mobility to fight climate change\, promote equity\, and strengthen community. \nAt the Summit\, we want to offer the opportunity to take steps collectively to meet these goals. At speeches\, workshops\, panels\, and field trips\, we will try to break down silos and bridge gaps. To lay the groundwork for successful partnerships and mobilize toward multimodal transportation systems. We will explore new technologies that promise it all\, and from behavior change to funding\, we can begin to address the challenges that hold us back. \nWith focus and collaboration\, we can take action.

SUMMARY:2021 National Shared Mobility Summit
DESCRIPTION:Our existing physical\, social\, economic\, technological\, and institutional INFRASTRUCTURE(s) overwhelmingly favors private car ownership and private car use. This SYSTEM sustains itself at great cost to our households\, to our communities\, and to our planet. This SYSTEM drives the climate crisis\, perpetuates inequality\, and is hostile to community. The INFRASTRUCTURE(s) is rooted in racism and in social and environmental injustice. \nAt the Shared-Use Mobility Center 2021 National Shared Mobility Summit\, we ask: “How might we shift the SYSTEM? The WHOLE SYSTEM!” \nThe 2021 Summit will be DISTRIBUTED through the entire month of July—4 hours every Tuesday (July 6\, 13\, 20 & 27). Each week we’ll start a conversation about how to precipitate the BIG SHIFT in a focus area: physical\, informational\, institutional\, financial\, policy and regulation\, etc. We’ll spotlight success\, and find early lessons—innovations that can scale—to help build a shared\, equitable and sustainable future. Our sessions and speakers will share ideas on how to structure a system that actually works for our households\, our communities\, and our planet.
