Highlighting Diversity in Shared Micromobility Workplaces Across North America

by Odochi Akwani, Writer and Content Manager

Last September, The North American Bikeshare and Scootershare Association (NABSA), in partnership with Better Bike Share Partnership (BBSP), published Building a Better Shared Micromobility Industry: Best Practices for More Diverse and Inclusive Workplaces. The toolkit is a comprehensive guide for organizations within the shared micromobility industry filled with best practices for cultivating a diverse workplace and fostering a culture ingrained with the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB).

To complement the updated toolkit and continue promoting DEIB in shared micromobility, NABSA, with the support of BBSP, is developing a series of videos highlighting DEIB in shared micromobility workplaces. In the months leading up to the NABSA Annual Conference, we are releasing Diverse Voices in Shared Micromobility: A Video Series which will feature the stories of those working in shared micromobility that put in the work to diversify their workplaces in Guadalajara, Mexico; Hamilton, Canada; and Philadelphia. The videos will highlight individuals and how they got involved in shared micromobility, what led them to the work, what they do, and why they enjoy working in the shared micromobility industry.

All of the videos will be screened at the NABSA Annual Conference, taking place October 7-9 in Philadelphia. Save the date and don’t forget to register today. This year’s conference theme is Ride, Thrive, Belong: Building Community Through Shared Micromobility.

The North American Bikeshare and Scootershare Association Annual Conference is the leading global venue for shared micromobility and transportation leaders, practitioners, operators, and equipment and service providers to tackle important issues facing the shared micromobility industry.
